In search of off-the-beaten-path deep snow
[ Please send your report to us! ]
We took off from Devil
Track Lake, we were sweating in the blazing sun, it was 45 or so
degrees. Gloves were optional... What was once hard as a rock snow
drifts on Devil Track Lake, was now soft sticky snow. The hookup was
incredible. We flew west across Devil Track's 5 and a half mile
surface, down to the Expressway Trail. The "X Trail" was in the best
shape we've seen it in all year.
We found our secret
stream surface untracked, well, except for wolf tracks.
We also found thigh
deep soft snow in the backwaters.
Along the river banks
there was deep snow and running water. We carved and launched off the
snow banks... freaken phenomenal.
RC Buck was riding a
wheelie and landed on the ice.
And sometimes the ice
gives way...LOL
The Cascade River was
untracked in both directions. We'll save that for next time... next
time came the following day. See Cascade
River Run.
Snowmobiling on
waterways is at your option and your own risk. Your safety cannot be
guaranteed.
