Great Spring Time
Riding
[ Please send your report to us! ]
We took off from RC
Bucks place at 1pm went across Devil Track Lake to the G Trail. The
lake surface offered no loose snow or surface water for cooling. The G Trail
and North Shore State Trail were in good shape, though, the surface
was hard and slick, we had to be aggressive to kick-up enough loose
snow for cooling.
We were out to find
deep snow back in the woods. It wasn't hard to find it...
We hit many Forest
Roads off of the North Shore State Trail in the Lutsen area.
We even got my sled and
RC Bucks stuck in the deep snow.
When we got off our
sleds, it wasn't easy to stay on the top hard layer without falling
through. I'm up to my crotch in snow.
Intersection of Bally
Creek Road and Forest Road 161, see plenty of snow.
Snow started to fall at
3pm and into the night, 1-3 inches fell, enough for cooling sleds for
Saturday ride.
